About Me: When I joined Toastmasters, I was in it for me -- just learn how to present my reports, and I'm out! What I FOUND out is that, "You're Always Among Friends At Toastmasters"! That's my personal tagline. It's a group of sharing, caring people who are eager to support each other.  I've been a member for 20 years! Most recently, I hired a coach to help me learn how to "sell myself" -- to go out there and get speaking engagements. After dealing with hesitancy to "talk about myself", I realized, it's no longer about ME! I want to help others! I'm spearheading the creation of Christian Communicators Toastmasters. I want to encourage others to get together and to share their stories, their Godwinks, and their love for Our Lord Jesus. Join me! Let's Do Lunch With The Lord!!

About Me: I first joined Toastmasters 11/01/1998. Like most of us I had heard about the organization many times and it was recommended by the Dale Carnegie instructor I had in Chicago. When I moved to Grand Rapids I saw several notices in the small local paper about a new club starting and finally went to a meeting. I've been a member ever since and have also joined the West Michigan Advanced club as well. I've been an officer almost non-stop in both clubs since joining and have competed in several contests including winning the District 62 Evaluation Contest in 2006. I was Area Governor of the Year in 2003 and became the Lieutenant Governor of Marketing, Education, and District 62 Governor for the years 2008, 2009, and 2010. The key lesson I learned in Toastmasters is to show up at every meeting possible and to always sign up for a role. That is how to grow the most and to have the most fun.

About Me: I joined Toastmasters in February, 2016 because I wanted to learn how to feel comfortable speaking in public and talking about my new art business called Since then I have given speeches to large and small groups, recorded webinars for online distribution and held workshops for artists who are interested in learning what I know about the "business of art." Toastmasters has helped me to become comfortable in any environment and to take on leadership positions with success. I had no idea how far Toastmasters would take me and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to learn and grow with the encouragment of fellow professionals. For the Toastmaster year of 2019-2020, I was awarded Toastmaster of the Year after taking on many leadership roles at the district level.

About Me: I have been a Toastmaster for over 10 years and acheived the designation of Distinguished Toastmaster. Not only had this journey helped me to hone my speaking skills to a much higher level and provided the opportunity to speak to groups outside of Toastmasters, but the leadership track from Club Officer and culminating in District 62 Director continued to challenge me to continue to grow in my people and organizational skills. While I want to continue in my own growth, there is also great satisfaction in helping fellow club members in their own journeys.
